I think it’s so fun to play tourist in the city in you live in, and I vowed to do that in San Antonio! I mean would you believe I lived in New Orleans for 25 years and NEVER went on a swamp tour?! This is one of the reasons I was so excited to checkout Sea World! We have to do all the touristy things wherever we live from now on. So if you’re local to San Antonio or plan on visiting and are considering a trip to Sea World, here’s my takeaway from our experience! I will not sugarcoat this at all… it.was.hot. Like really hot. Apparently certain days during the summer Sea World actually stays open until midnight (wish I would’ve known this ahead of time!), so I would definitely check online to see if they stay open later on the day you go! I think an evening trip would be delightful. But if you do go during the day, here are some tips to survive the dessert heat:
-Obviously, stay hydrated! They sell those little squirt bottles that have a fan on them, but you could come prepared with your own. Don’t forget your sunscreen too!
-Stroller clip fan for your little one is a great idea.
-I suggest eating while one of the big shows are going that way the lines are shorter!
– We found this awesome “cool zone” that’s sponsored by Guy Harvey, and it’s an indoor area that they literally keep 50 degrees! There’s a little bar inside too so it’s a great place to take a breather and cool off.
-I also suggest bringing a swimsuit for your little one! There’s an awesome water area for kids.
All in all, if you plan on visiting Sea World in San Antonio this summer, I suggest going in prepared to make the most of your day! Hope this was helpful!
