So this past weekend we went to a Christmas party, and the dress code on this invitation was my worst nightmare… it literally said that scrubs, jeans, and cocktail attire were all acceptable. WHAT THE HECK. I am wayyy too indecisive/anxious for this type of stress-inducing, vague dress code?! I always say to other people it’s always better to be overdressed if anything, but let’s be real, that’s still kind of embarrassing sometimes too haha. I decided to go with a navy pair of culottes and a festive red top that I bought from a local boutique 2 hours before the party after I decided my closet had nothing to offer me. It ended up being being a perfect in-between outfit! Because there were in fact scrubs, jeans, and cocktail dresses at the party. Another good in between option for this type of question mark dress code would have been a pleated midi skirt or some wide-leg pants. I’ve linked some cute options below, including the pants I’m wearing in the pic above -which PS they’re on sale for 4 Starbucks coffees?! AKA $20 bones.
This weekend coming up we have Matt’s big work Christmas party and thankfully there’s a straight-forward “cocktail attire” on the invitation. I’m wearing this one shouldered red dress that’s still in stock and can ship in 2 days! I went ahead and linked some other quick-ship gorgeous options below as well in case you’re in need (and don’t forget NYE is right around the corner too!).
Lastly, I recently realized that my wardrobe is lacking in the practical/every-day department for this holiday season. I like to be comfy for family outings but I also like to look decent just in case P decides she wants to cooperate for an unplanned family pic… wishful thinking I know. Whenever I opt for the usual yoga pants + sweatshirt look, she’s all smiles. Funny how that works right? So yeah, I have a ton of dressy tops and pants, but I don’t know what happened to all my sweaters? There’s a chance they’re in one of the six dirty baskets of laundry around our house, which pretty much means they’re as good as gone for the foreseeable future. Thankfully I do have a couple of really cute ones coming my way from Edge Boutique that I’ll be showing you really soon! I also snagged a cute cream cable knit one at Target today that I linked below along with some other cute and comfy ones I have my eyes on. I might send the links to my mom & Matt in case they need a little Christmas help! Or maybe I’ll use this as a test to see if they actually read my blog. HEY MATT & MOM, IF YOU LOVE ME THEN YOU’RE READING THIS AND YOU’LL BUY THESE THINGS FOR ME. K Thanks!
